Academy Award Nominee Salma Hayek Pinault has proven herself as a prolific actress, producer, and director, in both film and television. She was nominated for an Academy Award, Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild, and a BAFTA award for her leading role in Julie Taymor’s FRIDA. Alongside this, Salma has also dedicated much of her time to social activism. Since 2009, Salma has served on the board of the Kering Foundation, which aims to combat violence against women in the U.S., Western Europe, and Asia. In 2013, Salma, alongside Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and Frida Giannini, the then creative director of Gucci, co-founded CHIME FOR CHANGE, an organisation dedicated to improving the education, help, and welfare of women and girls around the world.
In October 2017, Salma visited South Africa to meet m2m’s Mentor Mothers and witness first-hand the important work they do, and in November, she generously opened her home to host a private dinner benefitting m2m.
