Patrons and Ambassadors
Samantha is an English screen and stage actress, best known for her role as Miss Moneypenny in the James Bond films during the Pierce Brosnan years. She also played Lady Rosamund Painswick in the television series Downton Abbey. She has numerous credits in West End theatre in London and the Royal Shakespeare Company. In recent years, Samantha has played leading roles on television in Home Fires, Fanny Hill, Outnumbered, Distant Shores, Donovan, Larkrise, Miss Marple, and Midsomer Murders. She is a trustee of The Royal Theatrical Fund, an ambassador for The Prince’s Trust, and a Celebrity Supporter for Macmillan Cancer Support.
She was first introduced to mothers2mothers in 2015 through her attendance at a biennial fundraising dinner with fellow Downton Abbey cast members and has since continued to consistently advocate for our work to end paediatric AIDS. Over the past two years, she has dedicated her time on several occasions to attend and speak at events in the United Kingdom for mothers2mothers and has continued to learn more about our programmes and achievements through spending time with m2m Mentor Mothers.
