International Women’s Day, on 8th March, is a day to celebrate Wonder Women across the globe and to recognise the work that lies ahead to secure gender equality. We were delighted to partner with luxury fashion online retailer Mytheresa, for their International Women’s Day charity sale, which ran from 8th – 19th March, and we are now so excited to reveal that Mytheresa have raised an incredible €30,212, with 100% proceeds going to mothers2mothers!
The sale included personal items hand-picked and donated by 12 top designers from fashion houses including Gucci, Dior, Valentino and Prada just to name a few! Among these personal matters were a customised Gucci jacket, a Jimmy Choo vintage necklace and a Balenciaga clutch bag. The sale also included prints from eight up-and-coming female photographers. What better way to celebrate Women’s Day than by celebrating emerging female artists!
Women’s Day is also a time for m2m to celebrate our own army of Wonder Women – the HIV-positive women employed as Mentor Mothers. Since we started in 2001, we have created jobs for over 10,000 HIV-positive women who are often among society’s most marginalised.

mothers2mothers has reached over 10.5 million women and children under two since we started in 2001. The vital funds raised by Mytheresa will help our Mentor Mothers to reach 10.5 million more.
President of Mytheresa, Michael Kliger, was thrilled by the response from individuals donating items. “Donating items that have a personal meaning makes the charity initiative both special and meaningful”, he said regarding the luxury items that went on sale on International Women’s Day.
