m2m’s Busy Week at ICASA

12312564_10153900064349781_1869897129_nmothers2mothers (m2m) had a busy week at the International Conference on AIDS and STIs in Africa (ICASA), which took place in Harare, Zimbabwe from 29 November to 4 December. m2m had five abstracts accepted to the conference, including four posters and one oral presentation.
m2m’s oral presentation – Near Real Time Data Analysis by Frontline Health Workers for Improved Mother/Baby Pair PMTCT Outcomes, authored by Stephano G. Sandolo, Zuze Joaki, and Malocho Phoso of m2m’s Department of Programmes and Technical Support – examined Client Appointment Diaries that m2m has introduced to replace paper-based M&E systems. The paper-based systems fall short in providing data on uptake of services in real time to allow for timely programme-quality improvement interventions. The Client Appointment Diaries, on the other hand, allow tracking and reporting uptake of prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) priority events in near real time, thereby expediting identification and follow-up on clients missing key appointments.
m2m presented the following posters:
