John Stamos Presents Grammy® Award Winning Band AMERICA at “Helping Change Happen: An Evening of Music, Merriment, and Making a Difference” — a Fundraiser Benefitting mothers2mothers International
LOS ANGELES, October 5, 2011— Acclaimed actor/producer John Stamos will host an evening of entertainment and empowerment benefiting mothers2mothers International, a nonprofit that works to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV in Africa. The event, at 6pm on November 3rd,will feature a musical performance by AMERICA, whose 40-year career has produced 16 albums and a number of chart-topping hits, including “A Horse With No Name,” “Sister Golden Hair,” and “Ventura Highway.”
Known for starring roles and guest appearances on such shows as “Full House,” “ER,” “General Hospital,” and “Glee,” Stamos will lead the evening’s program, to be held at West Hollywood’s Red O restaurant. Attendees will meet Patience Hlengiwe Kweyama, a mothers2mothers Mentor Mother, hear remarks from m2m Co-Founder Robin Smalley, and be treated to heavy hors d’oeuvres, an extensive open bar, delectable desserts, and an acoustical concert performed by AMERICA. The event will feature a VIP reception for Patron Level donors with a unique tequila tasting, thank you basket of special gifts, and a chance to meet our host and entertainers for the evening.
