Late night shopping at Liberty London for mothers2mothers

An exclusive evening of out-of-hours shopping and live entertainment takes place at iconic department store Liberty on Wednesday 2 March in aid of the charity, mothers2mothers.

Hosted by Mollie King and Samantha Bond, the star-studded evening, Gifts for Goddesses, includes a cocktail reception, 10% discount for shoppers throughout the store, and the chance to personalise many items – making the perfect gift for Mother’s Day.

A percentage of all profits made on the night will be donated to mothers2mothers – the charity that unlocks the potential of mothers to eliminate paediatric AIDS and create a generation free from HIV.

Since it was founded in 2001, mothers2mothers has reached more than 1.3 million HIV-positive women in nine African countries. The charity trains, employs, and empowers local, HIV-positive women as Mentor Mothers to work alongside doctors and nurses at understaffed health centres and within communities. Their intimate understanding of the social and cultural challenges of living with HIV makes them uniquely effective in providing education and support on HIV and other critical health issues.  One of these Mentor Mothers, Irene, will attend Liberty’s Gifts for Goddesses on Wednesday March 2.

Emma France, European Director, mothers2mothers, said: “It is an absolute honour to be joining forces with Liberty in our fight to raise the voices of HIV positive women in sub-Saharan Africa. The support of Liberty will bring us one step closer to our vision of a generation free of HIV, where no mother dies of AIDS and no baby is born with HIV.”

Ed Burstell, Managing Director, Liberty, said: “We’re thrilled to be supporting mothers2mothers with our exclusive shopping event. Liberty has a long history of social commitment, and our Gifts for Goddesses evening is a fantastic chance to support a worthwhile cause, whilst picking up the perfect present for Mother’s Day.”

Gifts for Goddesses takes place at Liberty London, Regent Street on Wednesday March 2nd from 7pm to 9.30pm.
