Early Childhood Development Campaign Takes Off With British Airways

Every child deserves a flying start in life. But in South Africa, health challenges such as exposure to HIV, poor nutrition, and a lack of parental education can easily block a successful take off for infants and toddlers.

That’s why British Airways South Africa has launched an online fundraising campaign in support of mothers2mothers (m2m) to help thousands of deserving South African children take flight for a lifetime of success. The campaign is part of British Airways celebrations in their centenary year, and will also feature radio promotions on a number of top SA radio stations – so do listen out!

Lasting until 13 December 2019, proceeds from the “Season of Giving” campaign will help to provide learning-oriented toys to youngsters participating in m2m’s Early Childhood Development (ECD) programmes throughout South Africa, especially around Cape Town and Pretoria. British Airways South Africa have kicked off the campaign with a generous R100,000 donation. This is in addition to the R1.9M that British Airways has already invested in our ECD work in South Africa.

Our ECD programmes are making a proven difference in the lives of children and their families: In 2017, an average of 97% of children in m2m’s ECD programmes achieved all of their developmental milestones by the time they turned age one.

Supporting this campaign is easy…no need for a boarding pass or ticket! Simply visit the online fundraising website at https://www.givengain.com/cc/BAsupportsm2m and you’ll see several donation options. For as little as ZAR100 (the approximate equivalent of $6.85, €6.20 or £5.35), you can help give these children a flying start in life.

Thank you in advance for your support and a big “Siyabonga!” to British Airways for their commitment to m2m and our life-changing ECD work.
