Team m2m takes on Royal Parks Half

Runner Will gave us a smile as he passed mile 9.

Sunday 13th October was a wet and windy day in London but that didn’t stop the mothers2mothers (m2m) team from tackling the Royal Parks Half Marathon.

One of London’s most popular races, the 13.1 mile route takes in some of the capital’s world-famous landmarks, and four of London’s eight Royal Parks—Hyde Park, Green Park, St James’s Park and Kensington Gardens.

The 20 runners on team m2m began their route close to Buckingham Palace, following the River Thames to Covent Garden before looping back towards Hyde Park. The autumnal run has some of the best views the capital has to offer—a helpful distraction for those struggling with the distance!

The vital funds and awareness that the runners raised can help m2m train and employ even more Mentor Mothers—local women living with HIV who provide lifesaving health education and support to women, children, and entire families in their communities.

Our team included runners from all corners of the globe, from South Africa to Spain as well as a corporate team from IHS Towers—one of the largest mobile telecommunication companies that took part in the event last year too. We are so grateful to these runners for taking on this challenge and supporting our work. Running 13.1 miles in the pouring rain is no easy feat!
